Choosing a Practice Net
To help you choose the right net for your garden there are certain things you should bear in mind. One point to remember is that if you live in a built up area you do need a net with a canopy to give your neighbours protection from skyed shots.

Pop Up
This net is a versatile practice net . As it is easy to carry and simple to erect you can take it anywhere you like to practice. However I do not feel it is robust enough for the middle to low handicapper.

Apex Standard
This lightweight model is fabricated from the specifications as more expensive practice nets. So it will last a long time. Because it gives little surround protections it is ideal for practising approach shots and chipping.

Foldaway Deluxe
The foldaway Deluxe has all the benefits of the Apex Standard but also has the added advantage of sidewall and a canopy giving you greater protection from miss hit balls.
There are no tubes in the front edges of the net, so no nasty rebounds. This net will allow you to practice your drives and long irons as well as approach and chipping shots.

Tunnel Supernet
The Tunnel Supernet has been a very popular garden net for over 25 years. The two front edges are free of support tubes and the top of the net is 2.7m high so its safe from rebounds. The tunnel effect of the net enables the golfer to have some indication of the direction of the shot.

Pro Practice Bay
This is an extremely robust self-supporting garden practice net. It has a built in side wing, which can be adapted for both right and left handed golfers. If used by beginners they should be aware that metal tubes support the net on the front sides. However the net at 2.7m wide and high is plus the additional wing is very safe.

Pro Practice Bay
For many years this net has become on
the main practice nets for Golf Clubs and County Clubs. With a 3m x 3m opening and 3.8 m deep it enables the player to strike the ball inside the net. making this the safest of all our practice nets. If space is available I recommend this net for domestic use.
A multi-bay option is also available for commercial applications.

ALEX'S TIPS FOR THE WEEK

When using a golf mat and not practicing draw or fade shots it is vital you always address the ball square to the mat. If you try to hit at an angle to the mat (see bottom diagram) you will find, subconsciously, that you try to straighten up your swing to the lie of the mat. This can lead to you hitting in the wrong direction. You must always ensure you are concentrating on
lining up square to the direction of the shot. Failure to do this will result in you getting a lot of exercise but not improving the accuracy of
your game.
